Cycling UK Oxfordshire organises its own rides and we also highlight some rides run by other local groups.
Even if you are not a Cycling UK member, you will be welcome on any ride that is within your capabilities and we will be happy to match you up with suitable rides. In general, you can ride for free on three rides before deciding whether to join Cycling UK.
Our AGM this year moves to a new venue – a pub! And, we will buy everyone a drink – yes a free beer, soft drink, tea, coffee or almost whatever!* We are meeting in the front room of the pub and they will have a range of drinks and snacks available for us. They have a courtyard, which is a good place to park bikes. We are changing the…Find out more »
We'll start along Grim's Ditch - a brilliant mile of singletrack built by the Vikings (Grim is a name for Odin). Then we'll hammer up the hills like Thor and ride down like Valkyries. Or something. Actually, this may be a bit more of an IKEA ride, because I will assemble it as we go along depending on the group and weather to maximise the enjoyment for all 😉 General…Find out more »

August's ride will be led by David Yearley. I'm not sure exactly of his plans, but I reckon the Ridgeway and hence some great views will figure in it. A moderately paced ride, not a scorcher (although we hope for good weather!) General description: Monthly off-road ride for those who like their rides bumpy and (sometimes) muddy on second Saturday mornings. The rides will be about 20 miles, mostly off-road,…Find out more »

This is a great ride for twisty singletrack in the woods around Woodcote. Not too much climbing - not none, but a bit less than average, and the two main climbs are quite close to the start of the ride. Also there is are major hazards along the route, as long as you can steer around the trees. That all makes it a route that has proved popular in previous…Find out more »
This year's Century ride will start from Wallingford and take us through 2 Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty - the Chiltern Hills and the North Wessex Downs. This is a led ride at a touring pace with tea, lunch and coffee stops along the way; we will aim to cover 100 miles in about 11 hours. Full details to come. Note there is free all-day parking in the Goldsmiths Lane long-stay…Find out more »
Off-road ride on the Ridgeway and the Downs. Lots of beautiful scenery, enough climbing and descending to make it interesting but no major technical challenges and we will take this at a moderate pace equivalent to a 2* road ride. Tea and cake stop at Court Hill after most of the ride (or you could make this your lunch). The timing to finish at 2pm allows for tea and you…Find out more »
Sorry to cancel this ride at the last minute, but I have been very sick today. Please let me know if you wanted to come and I will rearrange it on another date. Robin Off-road on the Ridgeway A return of the well-received special ride for those beginning or wanting to learn a bit more about off-roading. It starts with a 'teach in' and ends with a short but pleasant…Find out more »
