Cycling UK Oxfordshire organises its own rides and we also highlight some rides run by other local groups.
Even if you are not a Cycling UK member, you will be welcome on any ride that is within your capabilities and we will be happy to match you up with suitable rides. In general, you can ride for free on three rides before deciding whether to join Cycling UK.
Triennial Veterans Century and Annual Century ride 2019 (100-miles)
Sun 30 June 2019 - 8:00am to 8:00pm
The Triennial Veterans Century is a special series of long-distance cycling events for the over-50s every 3 years – a tradition dating back to 1928. This year we are combining it with our regular annual Century ride, so you don’t have to be over 50 to ride.
More information to follow but for now…
Ride start is from Islip Village Hall (but please park at Islip railway station if coming by car). The route would be a significant variation on the one we did in 2010, 2013 and 2016, with many changes but a similar overall feel.
Stops will be at:
25 miles – Coffee: Cotefield Garden Centre, Bodicote
50 miles – Lunch: Ramsden Garden Centre (short menu for quick service)
75 miles – Tea-time: The Horse and Jockey pub, Stanford-in-the-Vale
Riders will pay for refreshments individually, as on a regular club ride, and we will not have a fee for the event.
We will need to limit numbers to 36 (3 groups of 12). If you book and find out you can not come, please tell us.
