Cycling UK Oxfordshire organises its own rides and we also highlight some rides run by other local groups.

Even if you are not a Cycling UK member, you will be welcome on any ride that is within your capabilities and we will be happy to match you up with suitable rides. In general, you can ride for free on three rides before deciding whether to join Cycling UK.

Bicester Explorer ride

Sun 22 March 2015 - 10:00am

Bicester Leisure Centre, Queens Avenue, Bicester (other start options available)

(For information about future Bicester Social Cycle Rides, please click the button below).

The first CTC Oxfordshire Explorer ride of the year exploring the quiet roads around Bicester.  The ride will take in some of the rolling terrain of North Oxfordshire and Western Buckinghamshire before lunch in Ludgershall, returning across Otmoor in the afternoon (getting back to Bicester by ~3:30pm).  Options of 32 or 41 miles from Bicester, taken at a steady pace of about 12mph.  Please see link below for route details.

This will be a joint ride with the CTC Oxford City group who we’ll meet for coffee and ride with to lunch.  We’ll ride to the top of the “Col de Brill”  before going our separate ways in the afternoon.

You can join this ride at the regular Oxford City start at 9:30am in Oxford (see link below), at Bicester Leisure Centre (meet from 9:45 for 10am start) or meet us at coffee between 10:40 and 11:00 at the Wyevale Garden Centre on Bicester Avenue.  There is plenty of free parking at both Bicester meeting points.  Lunch will be taken at the Bull and Butcher in Ludgershall (please note roast option only, but they are excellent).

If you plan to join the ride in Bicester, please let Steve know to help gauge numbers for lunch.
