Midweek Vineyards ride

Wed, 14 October, 2015
The Oxfordshire Midweek Group organise rides from various starting points around the County. The brief summary below is for one of our more special rides:

5th Aug 2015. This was undoubtedly one of our most enjoyable and successful rides ever.  On a warm sunny day Denise led 23 of us on a tour of some of Oxfordshire’s vineyards.  Starting from The Emporium, Eynsham we went to The Bridewell Vineyard, near Wilcot where they provide therapy for vulnerable people who benefit from the outdoor work.  Then we went to Denise’s own Lynch Hill Vineyard where she provided both lunch and wine, there being different vintages of her own white, rosé and sparkling as well as cider from her own apples.  It interesting how many glasses you need before you finally decide which you prefer.  After this excellent lunch we rode again, this time to The Bothy Vineyard where we had brief talk about its history and more wine tasting.  Thank you Denise for a superb day.
