Our main ride series for the first half of 2018 builds to a re-run of the 200 mile County Boundary ride that 7 of us started and 6 completed in 2013. It took us 23-and-a half hours, and was epic in every sense of the word.
OK, so you probably shouldn’t start this straight from the couch. But if you have ridden a Century, or close to it, and want the next challenge, seeing the whole county in a day (and a night) without racing, this could be for you.
The rides:
25 March | 50 miles | from Witney – The Witney Nifty Fifty on the first day of BST (British Sycling Time) |
29 April | 75 miles | from Grove – The Chilterns Explorer: Watlington, Henley-on-Thames and Wallingford |
20 May | 100 miles | from Eynsham into the Cotswolds. Our Annual Century Ride |
16 June | 125 miles (200km) |
‘Follow the Thames‘. from Wallingford to the source of the Thames then following the river downstream to return |
7/8 July | 200 miles | from Grove, the epic County Boundary Ride over about 24 hours (pre-registration required) |
Longer rides will be at a ‘moderate’ pace, similar to our regular Century rides (12-15mph on the flat), with stops every 25-30 miles.
